Some of my contact names (including my wife!) have disappeared from the messaging and phone apps, so just their phone numbers are included in the messaging and phone call histories. The contacts are still in Contacts in full.
This happened last week. At that stage I deleted my wife from contacts and then reinput and that seemed to work. I left the others affected (just those who had recently sent me a text) alone. A few days later, their names were back on in texts received!
now today, the names, including my wife's, have gone again!
I've made sure all contacts are selected in all the apps listed under 'Sync' in Contacts but the problem persists.
What's the solution? I don't want to factory reset if at all possible as I have a number of apps installed
