Where does the speaker symbol appear on your screen? Are you doing anything specific with your device when this icon appears? It would be great if you could provide a screenshot of the icon. To take a screenshot press and hold the volume down and on/off key simultaneously.
I would also recommend that you reboot your device to safe mode to see if this one of your downloaded apps that causes this icon to appear as these will be temporarily disabled in this mode.
