Storage problems on Xperia E dual

I've bought an Xperia E dual some months ago.

Last week, I had to update WhatsApp but I couldn't. It said that I didn't have enough space. However, I had 1.5 GB free.

I bought an 8 GB microSD card, but it didn't download it neither.

Finally, I uninstalled WhatsApp, installed it again and it worked.

But since last week I can't receive text messages because its says that I don't have enough space again.

And I have 6.5 GB free!

I would thank anybody who could solve this problem.

You can't move your apps to your SD card so you will have to uninstall apps if you want to avoid this issue

There are two different memories on phone itself - one is Phone memory and the other is Internal storage. Go to Settings - Apps, you can see both these memories and also how much is left of them. And external storage is totally different, it is your microSD card.
On Xperia E, Phone memory is about 700 MB, and Internal storage is about 2 GB. Some apps can be moved from Phone memory to Internal storage. Settings - Apps - All - choose the app - Move to internal storage. But some other apps cannot be moved. Move all the apps that can be moved, you can use CleanMaster app to show you what apps can be moved. Whatsapp, I guess, has to be installed on Phone memory, so try freeing up Phone memory before updating it, otherwise you will have to uninstall a few apps that are on Phone memory to free up space.

And apps cannot be move to external storage, that is your microSD card. So, changing your SD card is not going to help, unless you have a lot of files like images and music in your internal storage and you are planning to move them to your external storage (memory card).

My phone, c1505, is showng storage Is running low. If i click on alert it shows ALLphone memory used 730mbfree 20 mb, RUNNING 353 mb used 73 mb freeINTERNAL 1.5 gb free out of 2 gb. most apps stored on memory card. Had to delete some apps i was using and cant download anymoreTried a factory reset but its made no difference. What is going on and what can i do to stop this problem

Settings > apps > all > album, facebook, instagram, any music/video streaming app > clear data

After spending some serious bucks this phone is another phones of this range are too good
Didn't expect Sony to make this  phone and even sellers didn't told this problem otherwise I would have gone for some higher model of sony
Now I m stuck with shir phone can't install apps kudos to Sony
I'll be more than happy to return this phone to sony and wouldn't claim a single penny
Sony please take your phone back from me I'll be more than happy to get rid of it.

I bought this phone for my wife for her birthday a year ago as something not high end to suit her technology level/interest. No problems until recently with WhatApp trying to update. She keeps getting messages Google Playstore and Whats app have stopped working. Also phone wants to do an upgrade to o/s. Messages say internal memory full. Problem is I have done all the usual things: transferred all media to her SD card + cleared cache memeory + used Cleanmaster to sweep all junk & boost phone & limit battery use + closed down all open apps. The killer is she only has TWO downloaded apps - Whatsapp + Cleanmaster (total under 100mb) - so cannot be accused of overloading the phone (these cannot be transferred to SD card). Rest of applications are preloaded ie cannot be uninstalled but make take up the bulk eg Google Playstore is over 300mb! I have cleared video files from Whatsapp creating 25mb but where on earth will the rest come from. Apologies for detailled blurb but exasperated and would be very interested to hear any advise on this besides what I have done.

Hi.  After searching...I found this to be the problem and here is the way to resolve it

1.  Whatsap is the cause....all.photos received and sent are stored in your internal memory...they cannot be transferred.

RESOLUTION

Go to your File Commander ( or equivalent)  scroll down to find 

INTERNAL MEMORY >

WHATSAP>

MEDIA>

WHATSAP IMAGES....

SELECT ALL

CUT

Now go to Sd Card

PASTE by using the clipboard logo

This works with Sony Experia
