Problem with adding pics to messages

When in messaging on accessing gallery and clicking on photo to send by text... Message is coming up saying 'could not add item'. I have tried accessing gallery and clicking there to choose person to send pic to.. Same message.... I have saved to Google drive and tried to send from there... Same message. This problem only started today.

If you are using the preloaded app, boot in >>> safe mode and try again

Just as I said... Trying to click on photo in gallery and saying can't add file

are the pictures taken with the phone?

where are they stored?
