Under the “Language and Input” in the Setting I have seen a number of websites say there should be a "Download offline speech recognition" files under the "Voice Search"
My Xperia E1 with Android 4.3 is missing this option.
As a result the only only off line language it will recognize is English. (Not to useful if you are traveling and are using your phone for voice translation and cant get Internet. Note online works fine to recognize other languages.
Does anyone have this option on their phone? Does any one know why it may be missing on mine?
Can some one with KitKat 4.4.2 check if it is now available?
Thanks in advance
Victor

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
I've checked an E1 with the latest updates and i'm afraid this option is not available on the E1.
I'm not sure why Google Voice Search doesn't show this option on all models but from what i've been able to find it requires a certain amount of RAM so it might be that the phone doesn't meet the requirements for this feature. Xperia E1 has 512MB of RAM.

By latest updates do you mean the Android 4.4?
In any case I really can not complain that a phone that cost me less then $100 can not do every thing. It is still a GREAT phone.
Yes, i tested it with Android 4.4.
I did some searching about this and the information i could find suggests it's the amount of RAM (and in some cases also the CPU) that decides if Google Voice Search shows this option or not.
But i'm glad to hear that you're still happy with your phone
