DSC-HX50 - distorted picture

A few days ago I bought DSC-HX50.

Taking first shots I noticed distorted picture from center to the edges of picture.

Disfigured faces towards the edge of the image are in the lowest terms, funny

The settings are factory and I take shots in the "Intelligent Auto" mode.

Do I have to change some setings?

It's common for lenses with longer zoom ranges to have what they call "lens distortion". This is particularly visible when you use wide angle (all the way zoomed out) or from nearby and also especially in the corner of the frame.

It's hard to tell from your description if you are seeing this or something else
