Update PMB

hi

I am trying to update PMB with the latest version however everytime my PC finishes the download it tells me the connection to the download server failed.

I have many pictures and videos in PMB and it has always worked perfectly.

Now when I try to edit a video the 'trim video and save frame' is greyed out.

I thought if I updated it may work. Not!

Hi Simon

Yes only on the new videos. Works ok on the old ones.

I got a message from dolqui and I don't know why as it was not an answer!!

Hi Brian

There's no doubt .mpg is a supported format.

I don't think I've asked you yet: which camera are you using?

Cheers

Hi Mick

I have a Cybershot DSC-W55 and a Handycam DCR-SX45E.

I have sucessfully edited videos from both of these in June 12.

I don't know what has changed.

Should I do another installation?

Hello

Just a quick question. Have you performed a factory reset of the camera in the meantime between the files being OK and the current situation?

Reinstalling the software may help and in the same manner a factory reset of the camera (not necessarily formatting the memory card) may rectify the issue.

Thanks,

Simon

Hi

I have done a little reading and found that my cyber-shot camera writes movies as MOV*****.MPG.

Before 29 August 2012 I was using PMB but if I tried to edit a video the 'trim video and save frame' was greyed out, although it had worked perfectly up to this point.

I then installed PMH and everything was fine until now. When I have downloaded videos from my cyber-shot camera PMH does not recognise the file as MOV*****.MPG. Notice the capitals.

I am completely confused now.

You reported earlier having had the same error from your Handycam. I'm beginning to suspect the PMH upgrade as the cause here.

Re-installing PMH might be a solution. Alternatively, as you're able to view/edit already-downloaded videos with PMB/PMH, it might be an idea to try another app, such as Windows Live or one of the many commercially-available applicaitons, for your recent videos.

Cheers

Mick
