Hi,
I have an old DCR that I wish to get the footage off and ont a PC
I can't seem to find drivers for windows 7 or 10 and am stumped.
Some help / advice would be appreciated
Hi Thecraw and welcome.
Does your PC have a iLink (firewire) input? If so, simply download Playmemories from the Sony support websitefor your camera here:-
https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/camcorders-tape-camcorders/dcr-trv19e
and follow the instructions here toselect the correct driver for Windows 7 and transfer files to your computer.:-

If you do not have a iLink input, then there is no Windows driver for a USB transfer (last available for Windows XP).
You will need to buy a USB Video Capture Device and an A/V Connecting Cable These are available on Amazon at various prices but the cable will have been supplied with the camera when new. Make sure you get a USB Video Capture Device compatible with your Windows version - this will be many of them and will be in a price range of £10 to £150. Examples attached.

Thanks Blencogo, that makes it all much clearer. I will get hold of a firewire cable and see how I go.
Its a bit of fun trying to get my kids growing up off the digicam and make a few home movies to capture the memories. Appreciated!
