Hi Anto, welcome to the Sony Forums

Unfortunately USB drivers for older cameras tend not to be updated to comply with newer operating systems. In common with most MiniDV camcorders, there isn't a W7 driver for the TRV16E that I'm aware of.

However if your PC has a firewire port, you can connect via the camera's DV-out port without need for a driver.

If you don't have a firewire port it's often possible to fit one, either by installing a card in your desktop or via a PCMCIA card adaptor in a laptop.

If these options aren't available to you for some reason, your only other recourse is a lower-quality analogue transfer using the AV cable that came with the camera – a 3.5mm jack with red, yellow and white phono plugs.

The analogue signal will be fine for viewing on a TV, but will need to be re-converted to a digital signal using a 'video capture device', via your USB port, before you can import and edit the video on a PC.

If you need any further help, just shout

Cheers

Mick
