I have a DCR-HC19E DV camcorder and want to connect it to my MAC (2010) in the forums they say that IEEE 1394 (firewire) should be used but try as I might I can not get the MAC to see the camera. Has Anybody managed to do this, Thanks

I have your same problem with dcr-hc53e, and I'm looking for a solution. Do you solved it? Thanks

When the camcorder is  connected via i.Link to a computer it cannot be seen in the drives list. For transferring the videos pls try this:

1. Turn on the camcorder in Play/ Edit mode
   
2. Open iMovie
   
3. Start playing the tape
   
4. Start capturing in iMovie.

I have the same problem too with dcr-ch53e. A new iMac, the firewire cable (9-4 pins) and no possibilities to connect them. It's very strange. where is the problem?? Thanks
