Recording from an External Device to My Sony Giga Juke

Hi, I have  Sony Giga Juke NAS-SC500PK and I am trying to record from an external Micro Hifi (Sony CMT-CP505MD) onto the HDD of the Giga Juke, my problem is that I have all connected from my External HiFi to my Giga Juke and I have followed the instructions, but I cannot get it to record from it to the HDD? I have tried recording Cassette tapes, Mini Discs and also CD's, but still no joy, any help would be appreciated with this as it is driving me crazy as I have so much to transfer to my GigaJuke, but I cant get it to work.
