I AM RECEIVING THIS MESSAGE YOUR DEVICE IISNT COMPATABLE WITH THIS VERSION
I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IF I AM UNABLE TO INSTALL THESE APPS I PURCHASED THIS TV ON THE 29/09/21 I WAS NOT INFORMED CERTAIN APPS WONT BE INSTALLED YOUR ADVICE PLEASE HELP OR DO I NEED TO RETURN THIS TV FOR A MORE UPDATED VERSION.
REGARDS COLIN
Apparently, According to Currys staff, Sony has still to renew their agreement to allow these apps and others to be installed lets hope someone from Sony will reply with the date these are being renewed or not.
Sony don’t seem to care after they have made the tv they abandon their customers asap. They have absolutely no honour or pride in their tv if they did then the KD49XG9005 wouldn’t have ever been made. This tv is an example of why many are ditching Sony for companies that care or charge less. They are an embarrassment.
Thank you for your reply now I am very concerned I have visited there store and they are suggesting I return before my returning goods date has expired to check if they have managed to contact Sony Representative to ascertain if and when the apps will be appoved for update.
Thanks again
Hi @NEVIS1 You should note that you will not get that information from here, this is a community of customers. Curry's are fully aware and have been supplying streaming sticks as a stop gap plus it is not just a Sony problem.
Hey NEVIS1, the apps aren't available yet, try the following:
To enjoy the content across all the services on your TV just follow these easy steps:
- Connect your TV and mobile device to the same network
- Open up your favourite streaming service
- Just tap or click on the Chromecast icon (it looks like a TV with radio waves in the corner)
- select your TV from the list
It will then start playing on your TV and you can put your mobile device to sleep. You can also still receive calls and send messages without disrupting playback on the TV.

There is an easy way to get round this. Just buy a Fiersick dongle which just plugs in to a spare HDMI socket. This provides not only all the catch up TV services buy many more streaming servicesto choose from
