Hi, I have just bought KDL-43WF663 TV. The channel change is painfully slow. [ 3 to 5 secs].Is this normal?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Yes it is normal especially if just inputting the required channel number on the remote, the TV waits to see if you are going to enter a second or third number before switching to the requested channel.
It may speed up the channel change by entering the required channel number and then pressing the OK button,
this makes the TV change to the requested channel rather than wait to see if there is to be further input.
SD to SD and HD to SD channel switching should be a little quicker, switching from HD to HD or SD to HD
will take longer as the info/ data for HD channels takes longer to load.
TVs in general do not use the fastest of CPU chips.
Yes i agree with @daveyh64, there can be slight delays between pressing the button and the TV actually performing the action, but if it's taking way too long as in 5 seconds or more, you might wanna make sure that your TV is on the latest software version.
You can do so by heading into settings then customer support then system software update.
Thanks Griffin-door. Now I know it normal, for Sony anyway I can except it.

I have had constant trouble signing in again. I have been clicking 'SIGN IN 'forever, until I don't know how, I got in, but only after finding many motorcycles/cars/chimneys/hydrants/boats and others. What I have gone through would have defeated the smartest Robot. Anyway, thanks for all your help.
@ jonnyreb, thank you for updating the thread.
