No TV channels on HXD995

I have a Sony Bravia Android TV KD 49XE8396 whilst watchin catch up tv last night when the program ended it just froze on the BBC1 player home screen , nothing on the remote control worked so turned of tv , when it came back on it was on channel 3 and still nothing works on the remote so is now stuck on that one channel, have read a few thing on line re turning of and on again but that did not work, there are only the on/off and sound buttons on the side of the tv that do work , i cannot find any that change channels.

Welcome to the Sony Community! I suppose you are not using any type of IR repeaters or sound bars with built-in IR repeaters, as that would be the area to check for problems first. Then also verify if the batteries in the remote are fresh. Otherwise sometimes it helps if you simply pull out and replace the batteries to make sure they are making contact well. Eventually if you still are having issues with the remote, you could try the steps mentioned in this article.

The HXD995 is an old HDD/DVD recorder. Where does that fit into all this ?
