KD-43X7052 and HDD

Hi, I have the above tv and have just purchased a HDD to record onto. Unfortunately I can't get it to work with the tv.

I have formatted it to fat32 and it works on my pc.

Looking at the back of the tv there are 3 usb ports but after looking at some fixes the consensus is that I need to connect it to the 'blue' usb port but none of the 3 I have are blue. There is a diagram next to the 2 usb ports which says that port 3 is for HDD but it doesn't say which of the 2 ports is port 3!

The HDD is usb 3 I believe and us un-powered, the only thing I can think is to swap for one that is powered?

The error message that is stopping me from moving forward is:

The hdd connected to the usb port was not recognised. Please confirm the connection.

Hello @davebigdave,

may I ask why you formatted the drive in FAT32 (which only allows single files up to 4GBs of size)?

Please read this guide on recording to a harddrive:
