Demand 5 has stopped working. Have carried out a factory reset but have same problem. Loading screen comes on with waiting circle but never loads. Any ideas, please don't say use youview.

If you don't have YouView enabled on your TV then none of the catch-up services (maybe except BBC iPlayer) will work. YouView has to be enabled so you can use the catch-up service and it's made available on the TV through it. You'll find more helpful information at this link.

This is simply not true. I disabled YouView when it first became available because it made the TV completely unusable and I've carefully avoided it ever since. iPlayer and Amazon work fine. Demand5 was working until a few days ago. I thought it might be due to atmospheric conditions but the fault is persistent. iPlayer and Amazon are fine so it's not a connectivity problem. Demand5 works on other devices so it's not Demand5. The fault is with the TV. At least the OP's message tells me I'm not alone. What chance Sony will fix the bug?
Quite so. Going outside of YouView the only players you lose are the itv Hub and All4.
But the chance of Sony fixing Demand 5 is slight, as these players have to go back to their providers to be fixed.
So those with the issue could usefully contact Channel 5 about it, and complain.
In the meantime, you could try fighting you way through the Sony menus to wherever the Demand 5 cache lives, and try clearing it. That may or may not improve things - it did for All4 though.
