Hi All,
I took delivery of my new Bravia 9 65" this morning. Still boxed right now, but will be on the wall tomorrow.
I bought it directly from the Sony UK online store. There was a banner across the top of this item (still is) saying:
5 Year Sony Guarantee with this television
How can I confirm this guarantee is in place?
Sony kindly added the television to "My Sony". It shows the purchase date, but doesn't indicate the end of warranty.
I see Sony UK have a Warranty Checker, however that only lets me put a 7-digit Serial Number in. According to "My Sony", mine is a 10-digit number.
I also found this link:
https://www.sony.co.uk/promo/5yearwarranty
However, in the drop-down list "Where did you buy this product" Sony Online doesn't appear.
Anyone point me in the right direction?
Sony's 5 year guarantee only applies if your TV is on the list of TVs that are eligible for a 5 year guarantee.
Click on the link below to see if your TV is eligible for the 5 year warranty, if so make your claim.

Why you would buy direct from Sony I don't know.
Other sellers like John Lewis and Richer Sounds give you an automatic multi year warranty with no fuss and much better customer service.
For the TVs serial number go to Settings on the remote, select Settings on screen, select Help and Feedback.
Click right and select Help.
Select Status & Diagnostics> System Information, the 7 digit serial number should be listed there.
Hi,
My TV is on the list - Bravia 9 65".
In a banner across the top of the item on the Sony Website (where I bought it from) it says:
5 year Sony guarantee with this television
However, at the link you've provided, Sony Online is NOT listed as a retailer I can pick from.
Why did I buy from Sony direct?
£2699 TV
-10% for logging into "My Sony" account.
-20% Blue Light Card discount
£300 cashback
£1643
You can use the Sony Warranty Checker to confirm. If it only shows one year, then you should contact Sony as per the included instructions.
I have just checked mine, and it it showing the full 5 year warranty.
When I contacted Sony (2022), they even sent me a full copy of the 5 year warranty contract.
OK - so to anyone stumbling across this thread via a Google search etc.
I dropped the Sony Online Store a support message via the webform. I've received an email back with a nice PDF attachment confirming the dates of my support contract and confirming:
Start: 29-05-2025
Expiry: 29-05-2030
So all good, I'm all covered. Now it's time to get this beast on the wall and start enjoying!
Do yaself a massive favour, Return it and get a refund, Sony tvs are more trouble than theyre worth, im on a replacement under the 5 year warranty and since day 1 ive not had time to enjoy the tv because ive spent so much time trying to fix its problems.
