Cannot register my new Sony KD49XF8796BU

You have not provided a lot of detail to investigate but I have just tried registering a KD-49XF8796 on the U.K. site and it found the model immediately. Note the “-“ and leave off the BU which stands for Black U.K.

also is there a way to turn off subtitles for good what ever way i seem to turn them off they turn back on when i change channel or turn off the tv

please make sure that Subtitles are turned off, go to Home -> Settings-> Accessibility-> Subtitle (right at the top) -> Display -> Off. 

Any problems or help registering your TV then you should use the Contact Support at the bottom of this page.
