Having read the specifications on this new model it states it has teletext. I currently have a Bravia KD-65A1 which has teletext and a designated teletext button on the remote. Now before all the boffins tell me teletext ceased etc a couple of years ago that decision was reversed and it is still up and running. I know most TV manufacturers discontinued this facility prior to the cut-off and they tell you to use the "red button". My question to the good people out there is that 8 II remote control does not show a designated button? And as the Sony rep in my local Curry's informed me I am mistaking teletext for subtitles, any guidance will be greatly appreciated. JR

Thank you for your response, I was a little worried about your reply as you describe my current remote which as you states has a designated Teletext button. The remote I was shown yesterday for the Bravia 8 II was the RF remote. I have only learned today from another Curry's outlet that the B 8 II comes with two remotes, RF remote and the standard IR remote which has the normal designated Teletext button. So problem and concerns answered. Thank you for taking the time to respond - regards JR
The teletext button on the IR remote is a green box with 3 horizontal lines within, to the right of the 0.
The subtitle button is a white box with four dots at the bottom, it is the second button down at the top
of the IR remote control.
On the Voice Remote control teletext should be made available via the Menu button, subtitles should be available there too.
Good news if they have brought teletext back to new Sony TVs, I miss it on my 2022, XR42A90K,
my older Sonys (2019 and 2012) still have that function.
Here is a link to the Sony support page for your TV, here you can access online manuals and the latest downloads.

I did say there were two remote, the IR remote and the Voice Remote Control.
A lot of Sony TVs now come with two remote controls. The IR remote is small and
plastic with a full set of buttons.
The Voice Remote Control is Bluetooth, metal with a smaller array of buttons., and probably backlit too.

Do neither of the Currys stores have the Bravia 8 II hooked up to an aerial so you can investigate
the teletext function.
And why Currys, if you go to John Lewis you will get an automatic 5 year guarantee, or there is Richer Sounds where you will get a 6 year guarantee, With Currys you need to claim your 5 year warranty after purchase through Sony meaning that if something should happen you have to go direct To Sony and leave yourself open to the poor Sony customer service. All three stores have the product at the same price and all have an offer of 10% off at checkout.
Once again thank you for your courteous reply and info contained with, oversight on my behalf in not reading your original response, Spec Savers visit required. I do usually purchase from John Lewis and will visit soon to check. Once again grateful and have a lovely week-end - JR
