I have the much-reported judder on a brand new Sony Bravia 7 ii - with all updates applied.
I do see judder with:
I do not see judder with:
When first used the issue was really bad. The software update (current as of today) seemed to reduce but not solve the issue.
I should say, I have been extremely disappointed. This is a premium TV twice the price of any TV we've ever bought before. The two previous Sony Bravias we owned had no such problems at all.
There is so much more CPU and GPU (and co-processor) power in this TV than my Sony from 20+ years ago, and the one from 10 years ago - I can't believe calling up a menu causes the TV to judder.
The retail outlet (Richer Sounds) has been helpful in attitude but can't do much. They see this issue in their in-store TV too. Sony support has been terrible - have you tried rebooting, have you tried the motionflow settings etc. Have you tried disconnected the switch and external speakers because they can cause electrical load (!!!!).
Sony want me to send the TV in but I don't want to because (i) we know the issue is systemic not due to a random error, (ii) we'll be without a TV for weeks, and (iii) I don't want them fingerprinting and manhandling the TV which for us is extortionately expensive - it was a birthday special gift for my wife who was finding it harder to see the smaller screen on our previous Sony Bravia.
To be clear I do mean judder and not stutter - the irregular movement of what should be smooth motion, not the regular discretisation of motion due to refresh rates.
All I want is for Sony to
I used to think Sony were the "pay extra for quality" brand.
I have now changed my mind.
What testing did they do?
How did they not even see judder caused by calling up the menu?
They make it impossible for us talk to actual engineers to provide valuable real world data.
Have replied to other thread (stuttering) on this. I see same issue and motherboard is being replaced.
