lenshood for nex 6 16-50mm zoom

I am generally delighted with my nex 6, but for two things:

1. There is no supplied lens hood for the standard zoom lens.  This is really poor Sony for a premium price, highly specified CSC.  DOES ANYONE HAVE A SOLUTION?

2. The SETUP section of the menu is dreadful.  At the very least it could have been in alphabetical order, so that then one could scroll in the right directtion.  Perhaps Sony could do a software update to improve it.

I hope someone out there (perhaps even Sony) can help.

Hi sonyafternoon and welcome to the Sony Users Community.

Sony do not make a lens hood for the SELP1650.  I have no idea why but it could be because one of the main features of this lens is the small size.

The lens does not have a standard bayonet fitting for a lens hood  but it does have a 40.5mm screw filter thread on the front of the lens that could take a third party lens hood.

Google finds lots of rubber and metal lens hoods with 40.5mm screw fit at reasonable cost.

Coming to the forum anew, I'm looking for a 40.5mm Petal Lens hood, which google can't find in the UK. Someone out there must be using one surely! DM1
