It can take a bit of moisture, just like any other camera or electrical equipment, but I wouldn't go out to take pictures in the pouring rain myself.
So it doesn't dissolve from a bit of moisture, but I would advise a rain sleeve or something simular (or home-made, cut of a sleeve from a waterproof jacket) if you're planning to go out in bad weather regularly.
In case your camera does get damp or wet, remove everything that can be removed (exept lens), like batteries and memory cards and let it dry at room temperature with all the flaps open. Don't expose the camera to extra heat sources like hair dryers or such. Don't take off the lens until camera is dried completely.
