No surround sound when using sky -PLEASE help

Hi, we set up our new home theatre system yesterday ( BDV-E4100 ) and we have surround sound for DVD, via Bluetooth and we can hear what's playing from sky when we are on the TV section on the function menu (HDMI2) but we have no screen it stays black! How can we stay on SKY (HDMI 1) and have it playing on surround sound?

Can you please describe how you have connected the E4100 up to the TV, and what make/model the TV is please?

The make of the TV is a LG 50pk590 I think... And it is connected to the television with a hdmi lead

Hi there

You will need to connect the E4100 up the following way:

HDMI cable from E4100 to TV's HDMI IN
Optical Cable from TV's Optical Out to E4100 Optical IN
Set TV to output audio via Optical

I cannot see in the manual that your TV supported HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel), that is the reason for the extra cable (optical)
