Hi I have a machine which is almost 2 years old, it works great when it works.

Today I turn it on and it's totally unresponsive after green power light come on apart from the disc tray opens and shuts.

The TV won't pick it up and I can't even turn the machine off.

I've pulled the plug and hdmi left it for 30 minutes plugged back in and same happens.

I can't do a factory reset as home screen isn't available I believe it is up to date with firmware.

Holding the power button for 10 seconds turns it off the green power light for 3 seconds at most.

The remote does nothing and I'm at a total loss to what to do next.

For almost £300 it's lasted less than 2 years and my basic Sony blu ray £55 is 3 years old and a much better behaved machine.

Any help would be great I'm sure somewhere there must be a post similar but not seen one the same

I don't see what else you can do. I'd take it to a service centre at this point: https://locator.sony/en_GB/servicecenters

At £45 for diagnosis then to be told its dead or can't get parts, or if they can get parts probably £100+ I bought it for £208 new from Amazon.

Effectively better to buy another.

More annoyed that a high spec uhd blu ray packs up so quickly not like its used daily even.
