Teleivision will not play .avi

Hello,

I have a KD-43XE7073 tv. and want to play two minute .avi videos from my field camera but I am unable to do so.

I also have an older Sony, KDL 32W70xB which plays .avi very well

Any advice please?

Hello @Musketman1953,

just re-encode the video into a more common file format like .MP4

If your TV was an Android TV I would have suggested to download VLC media player, yet yours runs on Linux.

I'm sorry, I should have added that i copied the .avi file to a memory stick then to my Windows 10 PC, and converted it to .mp4 after finding out that the .avi would not run on the 42 inch 4K Bravia, but would run on the 32 inch Bravia.

I did a complete Factory reset and this appears to have solved my problem.
