Hi people

I can access BBC iplayer through my BDP-S185 but after about 30 minutes the internet speed drops from 3mbs to less than 0.5 and the program stops until theres enoough data in thebuffer for another 2 or 3 minutes then it stalls again. Hugely frustrating. This does not happen with LoveFilm.

Anyone else had experience with this?

Hi petwarr,

This sounds like an issue with the iplayer itself and how it streams data, I have had similar issues with iplayer where it will play some of the program and then stall.

What is your internet connection speed? www.speedtest.net should tell you.

Internet speed usually runs around 3 mbps, but when iplayer stalls the on-screen telltale has the internet down to about 0.4. Recycle and the internet icks in at about 3 megs again - until a few minutes later when it's strangled to less than 0.5 again. We've been trying to catch up on 'Hunted', makes it a nightmare.

Do you have another device on this network, laptop, PC etc? using the same method e.g. wifi. Does the iplayer work correctly on those?
