Does anyone know of any TVs on the market that have "Password Protection" – in short (and I know it sounds mean spirited of me, but there is a lot of history to this) but I want to stop children watching TV while my wife and I are out at work.

I think of it as just the same as password protecting your PC

Hi there

Nice punishment

But unfortunately I dont know any TV's that can do this. The pin protection is mainly used for settings and maybe adult related content.

So it then comes down to a work-around. If its just the TV, you could take the aerial cable away as well as the remote control. If its connected equipment, normally removal of a remote control, renders devices useless or hard to operate.

I believe a Sky box has a pin protection, and should be able to lock it down sufficiently. Although with perseverance you can crack it in 9999 times max.

Ultimately though, this type of thing ends up punishing you as well, as its such as hassle.

Cheers.

I know someone that got so fed up with their kids watching television that they actually cut the plug off it.

(I really wouldn't recommend this though.)
