Why Does System Restore stop at 30% with error messages 320 then 330

When I tried to switch on laptop I got message

No registry or registry corrupt

No disks or usb with anti virus software would load

I was left with no alternative but to attempt to restore to factory settings and start again

I tried a legal boot disk but my activation code was not accepted

I know that it is correct as it is stuck to the underside of the laptop

restore disk 1 -2 load then asks for disk 3 which stops at 30% with errors 320 and 330 then nothing

I have to force close down using power on/off

Any help would be greatly appreciated as my son needs this for his work

You have to use the Vaio Recovery because the product code for windows on the bottom of your Vaio is not a Valid Microsoft Activation Code. The license is for the Sony OEM version only.

Error codes 320 and 330 indicate a problem with the Recovery Discs themselves or a RAM or HDD problem so I would try a recovery from the Hard Disc Hidden Partition to eliminate the possibility of corrupt or dirty recovery discs..

Remove all discs and reboot. At the first Vaio logo tap F10 repeatedly to open the Recovery Center. Select to Restore Complete System and then press Skip.

If you get the same error codes then check the RAM is seated correctly and carry out diagnostics on a possible faulty hard drive.
