DVD-RW NOT WORKING

Hi
I have a sony pcv-rs402
WHen I try and record on maxell dvd-rw I am not able to do so.
Does anyone know the reason why or which discs are compatible if not maxell?

all my dvd-r work ok and dvd+ are fine:smileycry:

yo JJ

i have no explaination for why your disk's arnt working but i have no problem with dvd- or +rw

but do with cd-rw
try a different disk

also your hard drive icon it sounds like it has changed into a defragment sighn it doesnt do this on my vaio but it might be a way of telling you that your disk need defragmenting

go to disk management by clicking start ,, right click computer

then click manage then disk defragmentor then
analyze

if it needs to be defragmented do so and see if your icon changes after that

I also have a PCV-RS402 and am having problems with the DVD-RW drive. I have Sony CD-R Disks so expected to have no problems. Both the DVD-RW drive and DVD-ROM drive are having problems recognising that the disk is inserted. I have been able to backup an Audio CD but am unable to write data to a CD-ROM.

Don't know if it is a similar problem but it is frustrating.:smileycry:
