Re-attach the power adaptor and battery and reboot.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: " arial=""&gt;As the power adaptor and battery were presumably removed during the process of the new screen install this may have no effect whatsoever but is worth a try...&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: " arial=""&gt;Also have you tried connecting to an external monitor?&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: " arial=""&gt;The screen only coming on when fully open could be a separate issue.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: " arial=""&gt;Rich &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN style="line-height: 115%;"&gt; &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;I think this is just a setting on the power options. Check out Control Panel - Power Options. There should be an option there that ask you on what should be done if the lid is close.It's possible that it is set to turn off monitor.
