sonicstage wont recognise vaio.

GEtting annoyed now. After a few formats and not using sonicstage for a month or so, installed it again today off the disk. "The atrac device cannot be used with this version of sonic stage".

So I thought, oh ok because I updated the firmware I must HAVE to update the software too. So I did that, same error. Have done it 4 times now. Same error.

when I connect the vaio, windows pops up a balloon saying "usb something something install error" but see's the vaio as drive F: removable drive.

Someone help? I don't like the idea of my vaio just being a paperweight. I can't update any music *which I have quite a bit I'd like to put on*

Don't panic, Right click the My computer icon and go to properties/hardware/device manager/Uni series hub/root hub and right click on it and uninstall and reboot. The system will automatically reinstall the correct driver with the new software:smileygrin:

Nope 😞

Didn't work.. Have even tried updating the firmware again, but to no avail.

I now get a different error "the atrac3 device must be initialized to work with sonicstage blah blah"

...how the bork do i initialise it?!

OH!

I was scared of formatting incase it wiped everything and didnt work...

But it seems to have worked! *also it formatted damn quickly o:*

Still get the usb error, but sonic stage is working now!

I love you! xD cheers guys, saved me a phonebill to sony *as the sony shop couldnt help me :/*

haha right, it wont transfer my bulk of music, sonic stage dies. It does one album at a time ok, works great, but dies when trying to do everything xD

Does that pretty often with me too. One thing you can do is try to unselect a lot of the things that are set to be transfered in the automatic transfer window, see how it goes, then do it again.

Personnally, I only transfer manually now.

Aye, I found it better only doing a bands set of albums at a time.

Also noticed, it nearly always gives an error about not being able to transfer about..10-20 songs.
