Sorry but I dont quite understand the issue you're having. Are you using and external drive to boot up windows? FYI. Be very careful in updating BIOS, only do it if you are sure on what's going on.

Hi, I have developed a fault which manifests itsef as mis-operation of the USB mouse at boot up. Unable to launch task bar items (just highlights then doesn't launch), and unable to select anything other than the bottom item in menu options (clicking top option appears to move quickly down to bottom and selects that option).

I can clear it my using the touch pad to select Control Panel;Mouse;Pointers;Scheme;change to none, after which USB mouse works as normal.

Is the same using an external HDD to boot from, so makes me think either hardware or BIOS issue.

Anyone able to advise?
