Battery losing power

I have the above laptop purchased in 2010. For recent months the battery is losing power ie although fully charged it loses power within 10 mins and then shuts down abruptly. I have to keep it plugged in whilst working - cannot get full performance. I reinstalled the operating system today thinking it could be a Windows 7 issue. Still the same. Amended the battery power management to balanced and 80 per cent.

If anyone can recommend anything else much appreciated - my other option is to buy a new battery, but want to get opinions .

Hi Anesh.

Sadly, it sounds like the battery is reaching the end of its useful life and probably needs replacement.
