My sony vaio SVS1512Z9EB can't play one audio CD

Hello,

I purchased the sony vaio SVS1512Z9EB last June and so far it worked perfectly. Today I bought an audio CD and it simply doesn't recognize the CD. I can ear the CD running for a couple of seconds and then it stops. I tried the CD in an other computer and it worked, as well as other CD's and DVD's on the issued laptop and they run normally. Any suggestion?

It does happen sometimes unfprtunately, however I usually have similar issue with a few CDs that my stand-alone CD player neither does want to acknowledge nor recognise nor allow me to choose the tracks I want to listen to if it recognises it eventually.

What's the CD in question? Is this just an Audio CD or hybrid one (with other content: videos etc.)?

If that's just this once CD that causing the problem, maybe it would be worth trying another copy / replacing it?
