topic Sony Fit 15E Clickpad issues in PCs & Accessories

The Fit 15E 'clickpad' seems to behave very poorly in Windows 8.1. I don't know if this is a driver issue but I have now tried several samples and they are all equally bad. The only resolution presently seems to be to always use a mouse. This seems to be a major design flaw as it's the primary means of interacting with a laptop and tends to affect the perceived quality of the machine as a whole. Switching to a Logitech MX Performance mouse revealed a perfectly capable mid-range laptop.

I bought the Vaio for an 85 year old user who will probably work with a mouse anyway but I was shocked at this compared to the trackpad on my own MacBook Pro - worlds apart! Surely Sony can do better than this?

This issue was not resolved so the laptop was returned and my client agreed to buy a MacBook Pro.
