Help!! Need to know a hell of a lot!! [:((]

OK. I'm really starting from scratch here!

I was recently given a FX-503 and found that it was running way too slow.. I ran a virus scan on the computer and found it was riddled to say the least.. soo.. rather stupidly I wiped the OS and installed Windows 2000 instead of XP.. reason being I want to use the computer for video editing etc and all the people I know recommended using 2000 as it runs faster for this kind of thing (or so I'm told)..

Problem is doing this wiped all the drivers! Can anyone tell me how I go about installing drivers to get everything to work on this computer on Windows 2000 i.e the video card, modem.. the works.. I read on the sony website that I should be able to download these from the Microsoft website but I can't appear to find them!

Unfortunately I also don't have any support CDs or manuals with the computer and I only got the laptop, power adapter and modem cable so I can't get the drivers from the disc..

Is it possible to purchase the backup CDs for this computer or can I download them??

Anybody got any ideas? I would be indebted for any help given!

all drivers well be found on ur xp disc locate the folder and copy and paste on ur hard drive the when windows does not rec. hardware lead it 2 th@ folder.

Cool..

So windows 2000 will recognise the drivers, even if their on the windows XP disc then??

(Sorry I really am a complete luddite when it comes to OS stuff!)

make sure u update @ http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp 1st then go 4 it. (it worked with 98se).
