Vaio E Drive (DVD +-) Problem

Hi,

It would have to be a Saturday when I make a Boo Boo!

I had a digital camera connected to my VIAO Notebook, and of course I decided to use the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the startup menu taskbar.

I hadn't my glasses on and instead I have removed the E Drive, and now the DVD rewriter won't even open. (It appears to be dead).

Error message says VAIO E Drive.Lnk shortcut is missing.

A restore didn't work. Can you help me please restore this drive?

Didn't a reboot work? I did this once and shutting down and repowering up the machine worked a treat.

I thought it rebooted during the attempted recovery. Everything is working fine now.
