K215S will not resume from standby

Hi

I've just bought a new K215S to replace my FX501. It had Windows XP Home preinstalled, which I've replaced with XP Pro. After reformatting the driver and installing Pro ans SP2, I reinstalled all of the Sony supplied drivers.

However, I have discovered that the machine won't resume when it goes to standby. It appears to restart OK, but the display remains blank....

Has anyone got any suggestions?

Did you get the hibernation patch from MS?

I didn't get the patch, but I BELIEVE I have the problem sorted.. Through trial and error mainly!

Problem is, I'm not really sure which item fixed it! As an experiment, I installed the following items from the Utilities package:

Sony Shared Library
Sony Utils
Sony Notebook Setup

I also downloaded the latest video drivers & hey presto the problem appears to have gone away.

Bit confused as to why it seems to be cured, but I'm not complaining!!!

Probably Sony Notebook Setup as it controll a lot of things including hibernation and standby.
