i turned the second partition into 3 partitions and installed linux on the thrid for testing my website

I have Linux too, but I have problems with the graphicscard (onboarddevice)

have checking for new drivers by sony?
what for a notebook do you have?

Nice Notebook , faster as my PCG-FR315S.
Only the Floppydrive I missed.

But, sorry I can't help you with your double-layer drive.

I have had exactly the same problem with a Matshita UJDA710 drive for the past year. There are countless forums discussing this problem but no one seems to have a solution .

Do you have the same drive?

thanks so noe that another thing added to the list of death for my sony laptop

DVD RW
TOUCH PAD
Some Keys busted
Power connector damaged

sony are worth all there moeny

Does your drive have two different lasers (for DVD and CD), if not it could still be a driver problem. I have no idea where you go from here as I am still struggling with this myself.

Anyone out there with furter information or suggestions?
