External port replicator

Have a problem developing with the extrnal port replicator on a PCG-C1MHP. Intermitten loss of connection. Is this common? Can I get it repaired?

Thanks for your reply.
The connector seems to have one or two links which are either loose or damaged, resulting in the temporary loss of full network connection sometimes, including when I type and cause vibration.
If it is loose or faulty, is there somewhere I can get an honest quote for a simple repair?
I do not want to buy a new replicator since the fault may be in the computer not the replicator, so buying a new one would do nothing.

Peter,

You would have to ring around a few repairers in your area, see what they can do.

Otherwise VAIO Link do out-of-warranty repairs but it aint cheap.
