My Vaio copies cd's too slow

I have a Sony Vaio FS215S with 1Gb of Ram installed.When I try to copy one audio cd it takes ages to make an image of it on the hard drive using the Nero burning Rom V.6.6.0.8.I have set it to maximum reading and burning speed.SonicStage is a bit better but I find it still slow.
Any recommendations?

Hi

I think there is an optical drive firmware update for your model which, if you haven't already downloaded, can be got from Vaio-Link.

Not sure if that will help fix the problem but be aware that firmware updates can't be reversed and can sometimes do more harm than good.

Try using a different brand of CD as some Sony's can be a bit tempramental about certain discs.

Have you tried using other software like iTunes to make your CDs?

I use EAC to ripp my CDs into FLAC. That take much more time.
Approx 50 minutes for a 80 minutes CD.:smileylaugh:

Quality need time.:smileywink:
