I am trying desperately to download the above firmware upgrade, but there appears to be a problem with the site. Can anyone help????:smileysad:

Twisted Rizzla - I can get to the point of the download, but then it just keeps coming up with an error message to say that the download has failed. It then gives another message to say retry cancel etc, but when hitting retry it just hangs!!!!!

Are you able to download??

Yes it downloads OK at this end. If you want it let me have an email address and your model, just to be on the safe side – file size 811Kb.

Hello Silu,

Sorry to hear you having problems with the download on VAIO-Link - it is a site that works for some but not for others.

I have emailed this file to you for your VAIO VGN-A497XP laptop. Because of the email software I used, it had issues with having an EXE tail to it so I had to rename the file to have a TXT entension.

You will need to rename the file once received, so it has an EXE entension again. Hopefully the attachment will work!

Sorry if that entension stuff causes any confusion.

Hopefully it will reach you.

Let us know how you progress with this.

Thanks for this, I did load it (as per the SONY instructions) but alas, yes you guessed it, it didn't make a blind bit of difference!.I have taken it up again with Sony and am now trying to either get my money back or a fully working replacement!

Trying not to hold my breath though!
