I have allocated my scratch disk to D drive in photoshop cs2 and you can access that by holding the shift key when photoshop is starting up. Another thing is I have my HD defraged over and over until it defrags within 30 seconds. This will be the main culprit I suspect. Once the HD is conditioned you should only need to defrag occassionally. I also reccommend Perfect Disk and finally try Tune Up Utilities 2006 from here<A href="http://www.tune-up.com" target="_blank">here</A> free for 30 days and only £14. Grab the Lynda.com training and Total Training series and you will be totally pro.
