My handycam, trying to connect to a windows 8.1 computor,will not accept the software(disc) states compatibility issues.Worked with my older comp. sadly not got now.Any ideas?

There are no new usb driver released for those camera: last version were made for Win XP.

You have two option:

connect the camera via a firewire cable (if you have a firewire port on your new PC
use a win XP system (either the old pc or a virtual machine on your new one)

Hi, My comp does not have a firewire port, seems they are missing on new comps.Was just trying to sort out some old tapes and edit them.Have had them put on discs by an internet firm,trouble is you get the duff bits as well included. Thanks anyway. I am going to look in my overcrowded loft to see if there are some old comps hidden there.
