Camcorder - Sony DCR-DVD91E - HELP !

Hi all,

Really hoping for a miracle here....

After a very early morning and a very stressful day at my daughters gymnastic competition I stupidly plugged a wrong charger in the wrong port in the Sony DCR-DVD91E camcorder. Needless to say I think I have frazzled the inside of the port. (It was the REMOTE port, but in my defence it says POWER/CHG in white writing underneath the port).

I looked up how much it would cost to fix and couldn't afford it so I bought a secondhand camcorder on ebay and have carefully removed the disk with the competition on it and put it in the new camcorder thinking I could finalize it there and then watch it.

Little did I know that the disk looks completely blank in the new camcorder so is the competition sitting on an internal memory in my broken camcorder ??? Is there any way I can retrieve it as I cannot get any power to it now.

Hoping someone can help or just clarify that all is lost...
