Playmemories "PMCA downloader" install fail

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to buy the timeplase app for my new a5000, but I cannot install the app. Essentially I go to the app page, click "proceed and purchase", then fall into an infinite loop of licking "install" and clicking "ok" when prompted to refresh the page.

Sony are being less than helpful, fobbing me off on facebook with a link their generic top-level trouble shooting page.

I can download the actual zip file, and seemingly install it, and see the Play memories app downloader in the "Add/remove" programs list, but I cannot find the files anywhere on my PC. Neither can I actually buy the app I want. Does anyone know the default location of this program? Or any other way to get the apps.

Any ideas?

I've had the same problem too on a windows 8.1 pc and I couldn't make it work whatever I tried.

I ended up installing it on an other pc (windows vista)...

Same problem. It's frustrating that this downloader doesn't seem to be supported neither in Windows 8.1 nor in Firefox. Tried with IE, but no success. I have the impression that Sony Software is only half-baked and not well maintained; it shouldn't be a problem to issue software that works flawlwessly on up-to-date PCs.

I had the same problem.

I switcht browser from crome to explorer , that solved it for me !

It feels like it is a small problem everytime i connect to that app site since 2013.

Makes me want to switch brand actually 😞
