When I turn my A7riii to portrait mode, the focus point jumps to the bottom left corner. I am in single shot AF mode.

When I try moving the focus point, it just jumps back to the bottom left again? Can anyone explain please.

That's weird. I've checked the user manual of the camera, and I can see that there's a special Focus mode for portraits. Have you tried this: https://helpguide.sony.net/ilc/1710/v1/en/contents/TP0001666483.html?search=portrait?
