Hello Everyone,

Approximately 13 years ago I bought a Sony Mini HiFi Component System MHC.RXD5. Everything worked well - CD Player, Radio, Audio Tape player/recorder - until last week. The tape (A & B) players refused to work. They "click" when required to play. This indicated to me that the motor(s) were functioning but there was another problem.

I do not have the technical knowledge to service or repair electric motors. However I took the outer cover off to see if there was anything obviously wrong. There are various black 'rubber' drive belts behind both tape player/recorders, and three were obviously stretched and off their required 'wheels.' I presume that they have perished over the years and have now become of no use.

I would be prepared to try to replace them, it does appear that this could be quite simply done.

Does anyone have any idea where I can obtain the necessary belts?

[I live in Spain, and when trying to proceed to this stage on the Spanish site, the Model was not even recognised, this is why I have come to the UK site to obtain assistance!]

Thank you in advance for any input that may help me to resolve the problem.

Regards

Colinito
