I have just bought the Sony MHC-V77DW and I just wondered if you could connect a pair of NFC Bluetooth enabled headphones.

Yes you can't, MHD-V77WD's Bluetooth has A2DP Profile for Audio stream but SNK (SINK) version and so it can only receive and not send (SRC - Source version).
