Connecting a turntable into my CMT_GP7

Hi, I'm thinking about adding a turntable to complement my mini system. Does anybody know if I can plug a regular turntable (with phono-level output) directly into the MD (video) input of the CMT-GP7 or do I need a phono preamp in order to do so?

The manual says this is an 'analog input': does this mean that a turntable without preamp can be plugged in there?

welcome to the Sony User Community Forum..

I have sought some advice & have been informed that you will need either a turntable with an integrated pre-amp or if you plan to use a standard turntable then you'll need an additional phono pre-amp to match your the phono pick-up..
